About Odds & Friends
We are a small group of artists with diverse styles and backgrounds who have come together to showcase and sell our handmade artwork. We all have a different medium (or three) we work in, but we are united by a love for art and experimentation with new techniques.
Each of our pieces tells a unique story and reflects our individual perspectives on the world. We invite you to explore our portfolio and get to know us better. Whether you are an art lover, collector, or fellow artist, we hope that our work inspires you and sparks your imagination.

Chelsea
Pysanky
The art of Pysanky originates in Ukraine. Pysanky eggs are real eggshells decorated meticulously using wax and dye. The designs are drawn on in wax, one layer for every color. Mistakes cannot be fixed. The wax is finally melted away to reveal the final design. Chelsea endeavors to preserve the traditional method and look of Pysanky, while modernizing the art and creating new designs of her own. She finalizes her Pysanky by threading them with wire and bead caps, allowing the eggs to be displayed on a stand or as a hanging ornament.

Ryan
Paper Cuttings
Paper cutting as an art form originated in China and dates back all the way to the 2nd Century CE - when paper was invented by Cai Lun of the Eastern Han Dynasty in China. They were often glued to the exterior of the windows, allowing the light to shine through the negative space, creating various patterns and designs. The natural world, from animals to flowers, features heavily in Ryan's work, along with modern motifs and fandoms such as Sailor Moon. Once mounted and framed, these works are stunning and an amazing conversation starter.

Charles is an innovator in the art of resin pouring. He meticulously mixes epoxy resin with different dyes, powders, and glitter to create fantastical, functional, and durable works of art in nearly any color and form your heart could desire. As the resin hardens, the colors shift and swirl, making every piece one of a kind.
Katie
Painted Nature
While the idea of painting on leaves is not new-- nearly every human culture has engaged in this art form-- Katie renews the idea with her miniature landscapes. Her work reminds us of Ohio's beauty and our beloved state's quirks. The attention to detail, displayed on a natural leaf, is exciting to see in person and makes a great conversation starter when displayed in your home.
